Circuits
Sometimes you get the perfect storm of great weather, no worries and availability of instructors.
Well this week was that day. The weather was an absolute ripper with no cloud, no wind and a temperature in the high twenties which for NZ is HOT!
You really can’t beat Wellington on a good day!
It was more circuit training this time so that I can get consistently good in the pattern and start to progress.
I have had a lot going on in my private life of late so now that those issues are waning, I was in a great headspace to fly.
My circuits this time round was so much better, and I was really enjoying the session.
Landings I have down pat now. My main issues are drifting up or down during downwind and a bit more use of rudder. I also made the circuit bigger, so I had more time to slow the aircraft and set up
Still it was a vast improvement and goes to prove that the I.M.S.A.F.E. pneumonic is so important.
Don’t be staunch or just “suck it up”. If you bring “a monkey on your back” flying it will bite you!
I have had to learn this the hard way. All praise to my instructors who had noticed my inconsistency and were rather concerned as to why. With a bit of soul searching I have found the issue, and have it sorted.
So, onward and upwards team.
Until next time.
