Blog – Circuits 04/02/2023

A session of circuits today to polish up the skills. Always a good “bang for the bucks”.

Need to remember about Carb Heat and using my feet more (Sound familiar?).

It appears that the seat of the Tomahawk keeps unhooking and sliding back during my flights. It is rather concerning that this has only been reported by me and that other Pilots are not having the issue. Because on both flights this has occurred several times, I have been consciously more worried about the seat sliding back at a critical moment rather than relaxing and flying the aircraft.

Whatever is causing this to happen is also quite the mystery, however it is also a risk for both me and my instructor. The last thing we need is for this to occur at a critical phase of flight.

Without a root cause or remediation this has become a safety concern. I have therefore requested transfer to the Tecnam Sierra going forward. I would feel much more relaxed knowing that I do not have to worry about being unceremoniously “ejected” into the back of the cockpit at random moments.

Such Fun!
