Blog – Circuits and Engine Failure After Take-off 01/05/2021

Circuits with 1x EFATO

Long ground session signing off my logbook. Gusty southerly up to 27kts made for challenging training today.

As RWY16@NZPP being a right hand circuit didn’t help as only done this a few times so my reference points and right hand circuit was very rusty.

Made the most of these conditions to work on consistency.

Had trouble again levelling off and getting aircraft trimmed up for landing. When I did this landings were good.

Need to really drill this into my consciousness during circuits. However did most aspects of the circuit consistently including powering off and flaring, so I am pleased with todays session.

I had good situational awareness today too which was also good to see. Tough but very worthwhile session.
