Blog – Circuits With CFI 11/06/2023

After the great flying yesterday, I was booked in with the CFI to repeat the tasks and impress him enough to solo on type.

The morning was cold and crisp and as I went thru my pre-filght checks the fog started thickening up so we decided to wait 30mins to see if it would clear. Sure enough after about 45mins the fog cleared and we were taxiing out for todays mission.

I performed my circuits fairly well however I was a bit high on some and I actually aborted and went around on my third which impressed my CFI no end.

After 4 circuits we landed but due to our initial delay, we were out of time and low on fuel, so I had to abort the solo for today. Great to see that my CFI was impressed enough to trust me at solo.

Its a little bit frustrating to be so close to going soloing on type however that’s the way it goes and we need to remember other pilots requirements and timings. I cant wait till my next flight to take up this awesome little plane on my own.
