Exam Day – FRTO

After 4 weeks of night class I bit the bullet and booked the FRTO (Flight Radio Telephone Operator) exam, one of six theory exams required for attaining your PPL (Private Pilots License) in NZ

I hate doing exams but I decided to “feel the fear and do it anyway”. I booked the exam at https://caanz.aspeqexams.com for Tuesday 15 June.

The exam itself is a 25 question multi-choice online exam. I was second guessing my knowledge but settled into it ok.

The exam itself was harder than I expected with some quite obscure questions designed to really test your knowledge. I stayed until 1 min from the end going over and over my answers.

I had to wait 24hrs for the results to come up on my profile but I was very pleased with the mark of 92% so was just slightly off on two questions.

Good to get this first one ticked off. Onwards now to “Human Factors”

Until next time….
