Exam Day – Human Factors

After another 4 weeks of night classes I  booked the Human Factors exam, the second of six theory exams required for attaining your PPL (Private Pilots License) in NZ.

This exam covers the medical, psychological and ergonomic/engineering aspects associated with being in an aircraft.

I booked this exam at https://caanz.aspeqexams.com for Tuesday 27 July.

This exam was a 33 question multi-choice online exam. For this exam I studied much more than the FRTO exam I sat on the 15 June as it covers so much more. I was quite nervous going into this one as there seems to be a tendency in the exam structure to trip up candidates. Well that’s my take on the way questions could be rather “obscure” or taken two ways.

The exam itself was harder than I expected with some questions designed to really test your knowledge. I was second guessing my knowledge but decided to use logic and safety first as my mantra on the harder questions. Like last time, I stayed until 1 min from the end going over and over my answers. I had to wait 24hrs for the results to come up on my profile but I was pleased to pass with the mark of 85%  After checking on the sections in which I didn’t do well, I was slightly off on the five minor questions I tagged.

Good to get this second exam done. Next cab off the rank is “Air Navigation”

Until next time….
