Blog – Fatal Crash at Hood Aerodrome 16/06/2019

Fatal Crash at Hood

I thought I would start a Blog around my flight training going forward.

Sadly this will not be a bright and breezy one as our aviation community at Hood Aerodrome in Masterton New Zealand lost two fine people on 16 June 2019. Craig McBride of Wairarapa Aero Club, & Joshua Christensen of Skydive Wellington both died when their aircraft collided on finals. Details are sketchy at best and it will take many months for CAA (Civil Aviation Authority)  and TAIC (Transport Accident Investigation Commission) to release their findings. Speculation is rife and I will not entertain hearsay out of respect. Craig was flying one of our Tecnam P2002 JF Microlights “ZK-WAK” that I had done all my training in to date. So sad for all and my condolences and thoughts are with both Craig and Josh’s families.
