Blog – FLWOP (Forced Landing Without Power) 23/03/2024

Today was a 2nd hit out on forced landings without power.

Flying was way better today. I was not squeezing in on my approach pattern and could get my heights and speed dialled in. I was holding the stick lightly so when I looked down, I was not pushing the stick forward and loosing the flightpath. I was doing well, and was doing the procedure well. It still took a few times to get a perfect track and hit my marks. Finally!

My decisions were so much better and decisive and my flying was good. Some things I did do well however the PPL standard is much higher than I am currently demonstrating. I need to hit the books and do some “chair flying” to get my head around this.

I’m very happy that today I flew better. I still need to get these procedures nailed first time though. How am I going to do that, I don’t know for sure. I just know that I’m going to have to really work hard to make this happen first time, every time.

Happy Days!

Until next time…..
