Another week and another fantastic days training.

Today was a repeat of last week with the full forced landing without power sequence added and more glide approaches practised.

My new FI had me do four circuits with glide approaches which I managed to do rather well. Yay!

We then climbed up to 3000ft heading to the low flying area and practised a few forced landings, ensuring I hit my 1500ft and 1000ft marks every time. I worked hard on spacing and turning in towards the selected field, keeping the wing tip on the 1/3 aim point.

This was putting the aircraft in exactly the right position for landing at 500ft.

Once assured, I used flaps to increase the glide slope and bring the aim point forward. Textbook stuff!

I was having a blast and flying was a joy.

Once we had that sorted I radioed intensions and set up for an overhead join back at the airfield.

This was done with no fuss and both speed and height were good.

I settled into the downwind and then my FI simulated an engine out. He told me to just bring the aircraft into the field which I did by looking at the field then checking speed. I came in like I was on rails and levelled off just on threshold, bringing the aircraft in for a nice landing. Whoo hoo!

What an awesome session. I love it when it all comes together and I achieve such a great result. My FI was very happy with my flying especially my last glide approach which he said was excellent!

SMASHED IT!

Happy Days!

Until next time…..
