Blog – Solo Glide Approaches 17/08/2024

My solo session was all about getting my wing tip on the threshold and keeping that spacing for the glide approach.

My first approach I was a little low on final, so after touching down I powered up and set up for the second attempt.
This one I kept speed, height and spacing all nice and came in for a nice landing. Awesome!
Two more of these with me pulling power at random times downwind and I had this nailed, with a buttered landing to finish. Nice!

This was a great session and brought home all the learning and placement of the aircraft for a good glide approach.

Next lesson I will fly out to the training area and do two complete Forced landings including all the drills, checks, and flying. My FI will say nothing until we return to the Aero club. If I do well I will be cleared for solo flying in the training area.

Challenge excepted!!
