Blog – Solo Low Flying – 02/10/2021

Hi All,

Solo Low Flying

Another low cloud at 2000ft and 15kt crosswind made for another challenging day to do my solo low flying today

From NZPP I flew to the Otaki training area and commenced descending to 700amsl. The aircraft was configured for 70kts with 20deg of flap. The aircraft got buffeted as the wind was 15+kts and turbulent due to the terrain. Again this was so much fun running “low and slow”. I entertained the traffic on the main highway as I did both standard and steep turns.

Once again this session added to all previous training like slow flight, straight and level, medium, and steep turns come into play.

I returned to NZPP and had an easy landing as the wind was straight down the runway. another fun filled session in my training. Happy Days!
